Well, you're right, we definitely aren't Japanese enough. But I think it's more than that. We lack something. Something essential for developing a product that involves sticking your finger into an electronic gadget. It's hard to put into words.

You can tell how the japanese think... "ok, we have a game involving only a finger. What can we poke?" "An Amoeba?" "good, what else?" "A panda" "yes! more!" "A face, the Sea, and perhaps a figure!" "Bonzai!!!!!"
In America we would have to target a totally different audience for game that require sticking things in things. There would need to be 3 X's on the box.
